The Decoration Bureau of the Cabinet Office has awarded Professor Yasuo Fukui (Graduate School of Science) with a Medal with Purple Ribbon.

　The Medal with Purple Ribbon is awarded to individuals who have contributed to academic and artistic developments, improvements and accomplishments.

　Professor Fukui’s current research project at the Institute for Advanced Research is entitled “An innovative study of the universe and the terrestrial atmosphere through observations in the sub-millimeter and tera-hertz wavelengths” (year 2007).
