高分子化学や超分子化学に立脚して、分子認識およびキラル識別能を有する分子や高分子、例えばらせん状分子・高分子の設計および合成とその応用を中心とした研究を行っている。また、構造制御された高分子や分子集合体の創製と応用にも取り組んでいる。最近の主な研究テ−マは、

2)らせん高分子の合成と応用
3)有機遷移金属錯体を触媒とする新規重合反応の開発
